The Tree is the prize-winner project of the international train interior design competition “Bombardier YouRail. Visions of Modern Transportation.” In 2010 the project was exhibited at the Bombardier stand at the largest railway exhibition InnoTrans in Berlin. Expand the space of the car! You are at a cafe in summer on the shaded alley under trees.
If you want to take a nap, push the footboard and spread out the armchair.
Wish a cup of coffee? Pull the table out of the side console.
The panoramic window is an interactive screen. The camera outside shows you on TV-screen what is hidden from view by the rack of car body, another camera, looking inside, follows your sight and moves the cursor accordingly. Just glance at the mountain out of the window – and get its description in Wikipedia immediately! Window-screen also could works as a TV.
Night ambient light system.
РLeave your baggage and clothes in a case – a tree trunk.
How does it work?
“This design reflects the modern traveler’s needs for luxurious travel with latest technology and entertainment and allows us a quick view into the future: clean, simple, inviting and relaxing design which is exactly what stressed-out passengers need. Offering an idealistic first-class atmosphere of the future, this proposal does side with of exploiting the upcoming technology for the well-being of the users (contrary to the often seen submission of the user to technologies…). With a concept rather more conceptual than rational, the designer clearly took to pushing the “design innovation” side of this contest, with a soothing overall feel. Should we start saving for the upcoming “Nomadic Techno-Spa”?!”
